Q: Am I Pre-Destined To Go To Hell?
A: In 1 Timothy 2:4 God states that, "[He] wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." The reason why satan often attacks us with this thought is because he, himself, cannot be saved anymore. The way he likes to operate is by sending his messengers of death, or fallen angels, to attacks believers with this thought. He is jealous of our relationship with God and wants to try everything he possibly can to destroy our relationship with God by attacking us with this thought. If one believes in Jesus as their Saviour their salvation is secure. The book of James, in chapter three, tells us that once someone is truly converted and knows the Lord, good deeds will follow. God desires to have a personal relationship with all of us. This is the very reason He created us for.
Q: Does Christianity promise me I won't have any more problems after converting?
A: No. The Bible actually claims the opposite. After one has given their life to Jesus, that's when the real battle begins. Every time a soul comes to the Lord, heaven rejoices, while Satan takes notice. God never promised us a life free from the miseries this world can burden us with. He does however, promise us He'll never leave or forsake us. In Deuteronomy 31:6 He says, "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” God allows trails and tribulations throughout our lives to test our faith and see if we truly love and desire Him until the end. He will try us by allowing the enemy to test us. God wants to see if we love Him above all else in our lives. God also allows attacks in our lives to purify us 7x as pure gold, and as choicest silver.
Also, the book of Job teaches us that we can be in God's perfect will and still face many trails. He allowed Satan to take away all his riches, family, and even his health. Once his trial was over, God blesses him with twice as much as he had before.
Q: Who Can Be Saved?
A: Romans 10:13 says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." The promise of eternal life is for everyone who believes in His only Son, Jesus. The instant we believe is the moment we're saved. Repentance will follow soon after we understand how filthy we are in the eyes of a holy God. Yet God, still loves us and doesn't want one soul to perish.
Q: Is Jesus God or the Son of God?
A: Every time we don't fully understand something about God we must never get discouraged. But instead, keep Isaiah 55:9 in mind, where God states, "as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and My thought s higher than your thoughts." God is 1 in being, and 3 in person. A "being" is the quality, that makes you what you are. It's the "what." The "person" is what makes you who you are. It's the "who."
"What" I am is a human being. But "who" I am is Mary-Anne Lou. Human beings are 1 in being and 1 in person. Our God is 1 in being and 3 in persons. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all equal. They're all equal because they're all God. We could look at this by comparing ourselves with Justin Trudeau. He is greater than us in terms or "person". People across the globe recognize him and his popularity outweighs ours. But, is he any more "human" than us? He's not greater than us in terms of essence, only in terms of role. All three persons of the Trinity are the same essence, but have different roles. Jesus and the Holy Spirit and not any less God, than the Father.
Q: Aren't All Religions the Same?
A: Christianity differs in several ways. All other religions across the world teach that you must do good deeds to inherit heaven. The God of the Holy Bible tells us that all our deeds are like filthy rags in front of Him. Also, Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it." The idea of doing good deeds to inherit heaven will only leave one feeling insecure and uncertain of their salvation. How many good deeds will they have to do for their salvation to be secure? Instead, you can have a sense of security in Christ alone, today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him form the dead, you will be saved."
The Holy Spirit also sets Christianity apart. Once you believe in Christ, God promises to give you His Holy Spirit. His Spirit will lead us into all truth. He is the Helper, Comforter, and Deliverer.
Q: How Often Should I Pray?
A: God created us for the purpose of having a personal relationship with Him. He desires to talk to us all throughout the day and for us to always share what's on our heart with Him. Just like any relationship, God desires us to take time out of our busy day and spend it just with Him. In this special time we can read His Word, talk to Him, and sing songs of praise.
