Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” Our words possess a lot more power than we may believe. Their effect can first be seen in the spirit realm, then they will come into effect in the physical. This is the way God created the universe. He spoke everything into existence. In Genesis 1:3 God says, “let there be light, and there was light.” God is the only Creator and apart from His creation things can only be multiplied or copied. Even if we try to let our minds expand beyond the point of trying to create something new, something we’ve never seen before, it can never be done. Only three percent of our brain functions and is not limited by God. Most of our brain doesn't operate in this spiritual plain. Scientists have not discovered the function of 97% of our brain. The third heaven is a spiritual plain where not just own minds, but our whole being will be enlightened. Our world limits our mind from reaching its full potential in Christ in many different ways. One major way may be through spiritual attacks. Demonic forces in the spiritual can blind us from seeing the light of Christ. They may slow us down from running the race and persevering. Spiritual blockages are a reality in everyone's life and they must be removed by the power that's in the blood of Christ. In Philippians 2:9 it says that "Jesus' name is the name above every other name." Our power comes from the name of Jesus alone. Anything we speak or ask in His mighty name will come to pass. These attacks we may encounter can be daily or seasonal. Speaking the Word of God in our lives daily helps one find their way back to Jesus and it helps them identify Satan’s lies. In heaven, or the third heaven, we will never encounter these attacks by the enemy. All temptations will be gone and we'll be able to dwell in the full glory of Christ without any limitations. Our earthly bodies are also another source of limitation. In heaven one is brought beyond the points of limitations faced with in this physical relality.
Because we’re created in His image we may speak anything and it will come to pass. Jesus gave us the authority to trample on snakes, scorpions, and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm us. He gave us the power and authority to speak or cry out to Him when we're in need and He promises to send angels to our rescue. Several scriptures point to the fact that before we speak and ask anything in His name, it has already been done. In Isaiah 65:24 it says, "Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear." If someone has a new born son who can not provide for himself yet. The father already knows what his son needs before he even asks. The toddler doesn't need to ask his father for anything because it's already been provided for. He doesn't need to ask for food, shelter or clothes. In the same way God loves all His children and wants them to receive the desires of their heart. Before we ask our heavenly Father for anything, it has been done. Our Creator desires to have a personal relationship with us and is glad when His children ask anything of Him. Matthew 7:9-11 says, "Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or is he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" God rejoices when one of His children trust Him enough to run to Him and ask anything of Him when they're in need. If God ever says 'no", to any of His children, it is always because He has bigger plans for them. To Him we're worth more than we've imagined. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts.
Speaking Blessings or Curses Into Reality
Our words can influence and even alter the reality around us in a negative or positive way. Divorce is an example of a curse that can be brought about in our lives due to our words. During a dispute or argument in a marriage, one may say that they want to leave, divorce the other, or may speak words that divide them. Even though the words spoken in the moment were not given much thought or maybe they did not meant it at the time, these words are now in this spiritual plain. Once something is spoken it can never be reversed and it will always be in this physical reality. This has now opened the door for Satan to step into the marriage and possibly divide. From now on he will always look for an opportunity to attack the marriage further. The Bible says he prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone whom he may devour. He waits for a season when the marriage is at its weakest point to attack. He will try to bring it to their remembrance, hoping to divide the partners. If married couples don't solve the problems in their marriage it may soon come into the physical and come to pass.
Everyday we have a choice of being light in someone's life or speaking words of despair. When we speak the Word of God into our lives or the life of others, we speak and manifest life into our reality. John 1:1-3 says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made." This means that Jesus is the eternal manifestation that was here from the beginning of time and He's the Word from God. In John 14:6 Jesus claims to be "Life", and since we speak the Word of God over our lives or the life of others, we align ourselves and those around us with God's original plan for their lives. Satan shattered God's original and perfect will for our lives every time he tempted us and we gave in to temptation. But by speaking and declaring these eternal words from the Bible over our lives, we will be brought back into the Lord's will. Speaking encouraging words full of life may also brighten someone's day but at the same time it may brighten ours. God's Laws are in place for the benefit of all. "Honour your father and your mother." This is the first commandment with a promise so that it may go well with you and you may enjoy a long life on the earth. God put laws in place for the benefit of all His creation, and choosing to disobey them only brings one closer to death. Life is in God's nature just like death is in Satan's nature. God wishes for none to perish but for all to come to repentance, as He states in Ezekiel 33:11, which says " As I live, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways, for why should you die, O house of Israel?".
The Valley of Dry Bones
In the book of Ezekiel, God commands him to prophesy, or to speak, to a pile of dry bones in a valley. Ezekiel 37:4-6 says, "Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD." God's Word is still alive today and can work signs and wonders. These words can be spoken over anyone's unsaved loved one and God promises to bring them to life. To replace their heart of stone with a heart of flesh, and to put a new Spirit within them. One must not doubt and speak in faith, and it has been pronounced done. In the book of James, God tells us "...when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like the wave of the sea, blown and tosses by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord."
God's Promise to Israel's Remnant
Satan seeks to destroy ones life, and to steal all the seeds God planted throughout ones life. He does this by planting his own satanic, deceptive seeds. These seeds will blind one from seeing Jesus and keep them from surrendering their all into the hands of the Almighty. In John 10:10 God warns us that “Satan comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. But [Jesus] came that we may have life, and have it more abundantly.” Life is in God’s nature and was always His original plan from the beginning of time. It was His plan to restore Israel and bring them back to life, back to Him. His perfect plan to strengthen the weak, heal the sick, and bind up the injured. God’s promise to the remnant of Israel in Ezekiel chapter 34, is that Jesus will be their Shepherd. He promises to search for the lost sheep and look after them, like a shepherd looks after his scattered flock. He will tend the remnant of Israel in a good pasture and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. Two thousand years ago God accomplished this perfect plan through His Son Jesus. Hebrews 2:14-15 explains how Satan and all principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness were disarmed by the death of Jesus on the cross. Satan’s plan was aborted and eternally crushed under the feet of Jesus. We are all God’s remnant and this promise is for all who call upon the name of the Lord. Our words can release blessings in our lives that Satan withheld from us. They can also allow us to see Jesus for the first time as the Lord of lords, Kings of kings, and us our Saviour. Romans 10:9 says, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
